Linda Nadeane Yunker, 79, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Evansville Heart to Heart Hospice surrounded by her beloved family.
Linda was born in Oakland City, Indiana on December 14, 1945 to the late Vincent and Mary (Houchins) Greminger.
Linda attended Henry Reis grade school and graduated from North High School in 1963. After graduation she moved into an apartment on Evansville's east side and began working at Permanent Federal Savings and Loans and eventually returned to her alma mater to serve as the athletic department secretary. She then chose to dedicate her time and energy to being a stay-at-home mom before returning to the workforce in 1984 as a secretary at the University of Evansville. After 17 years of dedicated service and providing college educations for each of her three children she retired as Secretary of the Biology Department in 2001.
In the summer of 1968 Linda married her high school sweetheart Terry, who was the love of her life. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, and nana who selflessly put her family first. She was a passionate and proud homemaker first and foremost whose love was the foundation of our family. She gave of herself endlessly, often quietly, and without ever expecting anything in return. Her life was a testament to the power of unconditional love and unwavering devotion.
After her daughter, Krista, was diagnosed with Crohn's disease she began to tirelessly educate herself on the disease and how nutrition could help ease the symptoms and progression. This led to her love of helping others with their health through Shaklee.
Linda was a faithful member of Zion Evangelical Church where she served as a disciple of Jesus for many years, knowing that she was saved by grace through faith. She Instilled her faith in each of her children and many others on her journey in life. We now rejoice that she has received the goal of her faith, the salvation of her soul in Christ Jesus!
Linda is survived by her daughter, Krista Greif (Joe) of Evansville, IN; sons, Todd Yunker (Julie) of Evansville, IN and Jason Yunker (Amy) of Newburgh, IN; sister, Debbie Baker (Carl); sister-in-law, Sandra Aigner (Bruce); grandchildren, Hailey Greif, Nathan Greif, Kara Yunker, Bradley Yunker, Reece Yunker, Cole Yunker, Molly Yunker, and Joy Yunker; nieces, Deana Stuckey (Gary), Terrie Lynne Hargrave, and Brooke Ludwig; nephew, Jeffrey Chapman; and 6 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Terry, and her parents.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff of Evansville Heart to Heart Hospice for the compassionate care that they provided Mom in her final days. Your kindness, dedication, and support will never be forgotten. You truly made a difference, and we are forever grateful.
A Service of Praise and Thanksgiving to the Lord for Linda's life will be held at 10:00AM am on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1811 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714, with Pastor Jason Yunker officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Yesterday

Krista, Todd and Jason,
We were saddened to hear your mother had passed on our way to Florida Saturday. We have known your dad since Jack and Allen attended Thompkins Middle School. Then we were blessed to meet up with both your mom and dad when we started at Zion Evangelical UCC. We know that you all will miss them everyday but just live on all your memories you have had with your parents. They are now together again.
We are sorry we will not be at her Celebration of Life but we will stay in contact.
Love, Gene, Sally and Allen Powers
