Our hearts are shattered by the unexpected loss of our beautiful daughter, Mireya Elizabeth Valladares. She was born in Hayward, CA leaving this world far too soon, at the age of 24.
Mireya leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and compassion that touched everyone who knew her.
Born with a radiant spirit and a kind heart, Mireya was known for her deep love of music, drawing, painting, reading, poetry, and journaling. She found joy in the small things, like playing the guitar, watching horror movies, and immersing herself in anime, especially her favorite characters, Kuromi and Hello Kitty. Forever young at heart, Mireya embraced life with wonder, humor, and deep affection for those around her.
Proud of her heritage, Mireya embraced her indigenous roots from Puerto Rico and El Salvador. In 2024, she traveled to El Salvador with her grandmother, Carmen Ferrer, a journey that deepened her connection to her culture. She celebrated her identity through traditional beaded jewelry, her love for fashion, makeup, and her beautifully braided hair, each a reflection of her vibrant soul.
After graduating from Castro Valley High School, she pursued a career in healthcare with determination and heart. She earned certifications as a dental, medical, and nursing assistant. Her true calling was in helping others, especially the elderly, many of whom she lovingly called "Mamá," a term of endearment that reflected her nurturing nature. It was her dream to continue her studies in nursing, a path she was excited to pursue.
To her family, Mireya was not only a beloved daughter but a confidante, a bright light, and a constant source of love. Her laughter, warmth, and gentle strength will be deeply missed, and forever remembered.
Mireya is predeceased by her beloved grandfather, Pedro (Papá Carson) Ferrer.
She is survived by her parents, Carmen and Michael Ling; her sister, Isabella; her brother, Ethan Ling; her grandparents, "Mamá" Carmen Ferrer, David and Kate Ling; her Tío Luis Ferrer and Tía Viviana Ferrer; her Tío Carlos Rivera; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts always. Though her time with us was far too short, Mireya's light will never fade. She will be remembered as a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend.
A beautiful soul and our everlasting gift from God.
