Mitchell G. (Mitch) Cain, 63, of Southwick, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 16, 2025. Born in Hastings, Michigan on September 25, 1962, the son of the late, Duward and Patricia (Foote) Cain. Mitch was a graduate of Hastings High School Class of 1980. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in 1984.
Mitch had a long and successful career as a software architect, President of Software Development and Chief Technology Officer. Mitch's passion for innovation and mentorship left a lasting impact on the companies he served and had a profound influence on the people he led. Known for his quick wit and ability to bring levity to any situation, Mitch's booming laugh echoing across the open floor remains an unforgettable memory for all who worked with him.
Mitch was a skilled and accomplished woodworker and luthier and also taught woodworking classes. He was an avid sports fan, who loved the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He loved music, dogs, playing golf and singing at open-mic nights.
Mitch is survived by his brother, David Cain and his wife Cindy of Hastings Michigan, his sister, Valerie O'Neil and her partner Ron of Danielson, CT, his former spouse Tracy (Turner) Cain of Windsor and her daughters, Shauna Morgan and Sarah Morgan, many dear friends who were like his second family at CBH and his brother-in-law Michael Andrew of Bath, Maine, many beloved nephews and his niece.
Mitch was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Lisa Andrew of Bath, Maine.
Mitch's family will receive friends on Sunday December 28, 2025, from 2-4PM at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035, a Celebration of Mitchell's Life will follow beginning at 4PM at Cambridge House Brew Pub, 357 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035.
