Mitchell Gonzales, age 83, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, following an extended illness.
Mitch was born on January 14, 1940, in Malakoff, Texas, to his parents the late Mike Gonzales and the late Annie Mae Hayes. He married his wife, Carmen Torres, on October 7, 1961, in Kemp. Mitch worked for many years for Lucent Technologies as an equipment tester before his retirement. His hobbies included fishing and hunting.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters; Pamela Acy (spouse – Anthony) of Dallas, Vicki Gonzales of Kaufman, Lisa Gonzales (spouse – Holly) of Rowlette; and son, Mitchell Gonzales of Kaufman; one sister, Carol Martinez, of Dallas; and his brother, Richard Gonzales of Dallas. He leaves his memory with ten (10) grandchildren and five (5) great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Carmen, his sisters, Margie Selman and Rosemary Thompson, and his brothers, Frank Gonzales, Billy Gonzales, and Sherman Gonzales, and one grandaughter, Alexa-Rae Cardenas preceded him in death.
The family invites friends to share memories of Mitch at a visitation on Monday, August 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 8th, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kaufman with Fr. Joseph Doan Thai Nguyen officiating. A burial will follow in Kemp Cemetery in Kemp.
The staff at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home is honored to assist Mitch’s family with his arrangements.
