Publish in a newspaper
Funeral services will be 12 Noon Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Minister Lisa Armstrong will be officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mitchell was born February 6, 1956 to the late Bettie Mai Hughes and John Robert Laye.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Angela Akins, his brother Rufus (Bug) Hughes and his two sisters Alethia (TT) Buchanan and Pamela Cannon.
He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters; Pamela Leighanne Clark (Demarius Pitts) and Toni Marie Clark (Terrence Patterson), Grandchildren; Michael Antonio Devon, Derrian Martell, Derrion Markell, Kennedi Leigh, Kenzleigh Marie and Kayleigh Rein. His sisters; Vivian jones, Veronica Laye and Margaruite (Val) Laye.
He has a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews along with a large group of cousins, friends and loved ones.
