Mitchell Edward Walden, affectionately known as Mitch, passed away on October 8, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 65. Born on December 6, 1959, in Henderson County, North Carolina, Mitch lived a life full of adventure, love, and laughter.

From a young age, Mitch was drawn to the thrill of the amusement and carnival industry, beginning his career at just 13 years old. His passion and dedication led him to design and build the renowned expo wheel, a testament to his ingenuity and craftsmanship. Alongside his work in the amusement industry, Mitch was a talented welder and proudly carried on his family's legacy as a third-generation car salesman.

Mitch's interests were as vibrant as his personality. He was a racing enthusiast, with NASCAR driver Kyle Busch being his favorite. He cherished traveling, working on cars, and sharing stories that captivated all who listened. His laughter was infectious, and he was known as the biggest jokester among family and friends. Above all, Mitch was a devoted family man who adored his children, grandchildren, and especially his precious great-granddaughter, who held a special place in his heart. His four-legged companion, Toby, was his loyal friend and constant travel buddy.

A man of Christian faith, Mitch found solace and strength in his beliefs. He was a friend to everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and camaraderie.

Mitch is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his beloved family, including three daughters, four grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter. He also leaves behind one sister, three brothers, and many other cherished family members and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 19th, at 2:00 PM at Church Street Funeral & Cremation. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Following the funeral, Mitch will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mitch will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the countless memories he created with those he loved.
