Linda Laughter Pressley

Linda L. Pressley, age 77, of the Edneyville Community in Henderson County, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.

Born on July 7, 1948 in Hendersonville, NC, she was the daughter of Marvin E. Laughter and Pearl B. Laughter. On June 24, 1972, she married the love of her life, Michael Pressley, and together they shared 53 years of marriage filled with faith, love, and laughter. She is survived by her husband; her mother, Pearl Laughter; and her four children and their spouses: David Pressley (Jennifer) of Raleigh, Amanda Habich (Ryan) of Boone, Adam Pressley (Lindsay) of Edneyville, and Andrew Pressley (Alisha) of Edneyville. Linda provided a nurturing, Christ-centered home for her children and grandchildren. She deeply cherished and was Mimi to ten precious grandchildren: Matthew, Grant, Mallory, Gavin, Mark, Savannah, Benjamin, Morgan, Kaitlyn and Claire.

She was a lifelong resident of Edneyville, NC, and graduated from Edneyville High School in 1966. She went on to earn both her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Western Carolina University. Her love for children led her into a teaching career in elementary education. She dedicated 30 years to teaching in the Henderson County public school system, where she made a lasting impact on so many within the community through her passion for educating students.

Her love for the Lord guided every aspect of her life. For forty years she faithfully led children's Bible drill, helping students learn Scripture and grow in their faith. She loved teaching Sunday school to elementary-aged children. Linda's creative talents also reflected her desire to serve others. She loved arranging flowers for church services, football banquets and other special occasions, and she found great joy in decorating cakes for her children's and grandchildren's birthdays.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin E. Laughter and her sister, Kathleen Laughter.

A memorial service will be held at Fruitland Baptist Church on Saturday, November 8, 2025, with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. and the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Reverend Evan Hill, Reverend Michael Smith and Shaun Huggins will be officiating.
