Mitchum Orlando Burris, 67, passed away on Friday, October 31st, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 15th, 2025 at 11 am at St. John Baptist Church. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. 

Mitchum Orlando Burris arrived on January 8, 1958 In Kingston, Jamaica to the union of Joclyn and Louise Burris. In his life he attended Old Harbur Primary school and continued on to Old Harbur High School and completed his high school education at Dinthill Technical High School, where he was the Head Boy and Eventually Champion Boy representing the school upon graduation. After leaving high school he landed a job at the Jamaica Railway Corporation, where he was employed for a few years. In 1978 he was offered a full scholarship to Ranger Jr College in Ranger Texas, where he ran track and majored in mathematics and received his associates degree. Upon completing his education at Ranger he was offered a full scholarship to attend Texas Tech University , where he ran track and majored in Construction Engineering and received his bachelor's degree in 1983. During his college years at Texas Tech he met and married his wife Tannyia Felton. They went on to give birth to 3 amazing children, Bobby Demond Orlando, Tallia Estelle and Christopher James. He enjoyed playing soccer and watching tennis and golf in his off time. He had a strong career in the construction industry, beautifying people’s homes. He was able to build anything his customer’s could dream of. He and his wife Tannyia were married for 43 years up until his passing on Friday, October 31 , 2025.

He is survived by his wife; Tannyia Burris, his sons Bobby Burris (Wife), Talitha Burris, Christopher Burris and Daughter, Tallia Burris. His Sister, Saundri Burris and His Brother, Michael Burris, His GrandDaughter, Destiny Burris and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Burris. His Brother, Anthony Burris. His Son & Daughter, Michael and Michelle Burris. His father, Joclyn Burris and his sister, Brenda Burris.
