Mr. Monty O. Dixon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monty, who peacefully transitioned on February 18, 2024, at the age of 63 years old.
Monty, affectionally as Beep, was born on July 28, 1960, in Newport News, Virginia to Shirley A. and James O.Dixon(deceased). He lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to his family, friends, and community.
Throughout his life, Monty touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and humor. As he grew up in Newport News, Va he was known for his love of music, self-defense skills, and his love of family.
After graduating from Warwick High School, he initially joined the U.S. Navy serving for 3 ½ yrs. as a Supply Specialist. His tours of duty included Okinawa, Japan and San Diego, Ca.
In his professional career as a civilian, he worked in management for a variety of companies from McDonalds to Dollar Tree to Pilot Travel Stops to name a few. He received several awards of excellence for his strong work ethic,dedication and integrity, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and senior management.
In his leisure time, Beep loved singing, shooting billiards, traveling. and spending time with family and friends. He found joy in working and mingling with coworkers.
Monty is survived by his mother, Shirley A. Dixon, brother, Ronald Dixon, sisters, Teresa Dixon and Cassandra Dixon McElroy, children, Duron Dixon and Katrina Dixon, grandchildren, Paris Dixon, Shyanna Grant and Syaire Dixon, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
Beep cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Hewill be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live forever in the hearts and minds of hisloved ones.
Repass will be held after the service from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 67 900 Kecoughtan Rd, Hampton Virginia 23661
