Morton Harold "Mort" Ershler

Mr. Morton "Mort" Harold Ershler, resident of Greensboro, passed away November 4, 2025 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

He was a son to Lou and Mary Ershler and grandson to Rabbi E.B. Ershler, both of High Point, and remained a life-long resident of this area. Mort graduated from High Point Senior High School and later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A member of the North Carolina Furniture Group, he was a furniture executive and also active within his community. He was past president of Beth David Synagogue, a youth advisor for B'nai Brith, a member of several civic and business clubs and was known for his volunteer work throughout the southeast. In 1960, he married the former Sharon Milgrim who preceded him in death in 2022. His daughter, Pam Gladden, also preceded him in death in March of this year.

Surviving is his daughter, Cathy Wasserman and husband Rob of Cumming, GA; a son, Jeff Ershler and wife Mary of Greensboro, NC; and five wonderful grandchildren, Sam, Nathan, Jake, Miles and Cassidy.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, at the Hebrew Cemetery in High Point. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Beth David Synagogue, 804 Winview Dr. Greensboro, NC 27410 or to the charity of your choice.
