Troy Lee Chisholm age 67 went to his Heavenly Home on October 16 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Pastor Teddy Moore and Pastor Chuck Chisholm will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 pm at Norton Funeral Home.
Troy was born in Hartsville, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Chisholm and Margaret Therrell Chisholm. Troy was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church. He was the definition of a Godly man. His faith never wavered no matter the struggles he faced in life. He loved his family fiercely and never met a stranger.
Troy enjoyed being outside. He would sit on the back porch for hours just looking at his cows. One thing he looked forward to, was going to the cow sale. He was always looking for someone to help work around the house, feeding the cows, cutting the grass, or planting a garden. However, everybody knew that if they helped, Troy would be right there in that wheel chair supervising the whole time. If they did not have a good work ethic, he would teach them one before they left.
Troy also had a big place in his heart for his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them. He liked to watch them play sports, going to all of their events, and sitting with them on the front porch.
He loved his wife unconditionally. She was his hands, his arms, his feet, his legs, his caregiver, his best friend and his rock.
Surviving is his wife, Betty Gainey Chisholm; son Brett (DeeDee) Chisholm, Daughter, Danielle (Richie) Brigman and son Jason (Alison) Chisholm; grandchildren, Landon (Tori) Chisholm, Emily Blue (William), Trinity Brigman, Peyton Brigman, Cole Houser, Remi Chisholm, Lily Chisholm and Tinley Chisholm; Sisters, Janie Rivers, Eva Hudson, Henrietta (Darrell) Hendrix; brother, Charlie (Debra) Chisholm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marion Chisholm, Jesse Chisholm and Richard Chisholm; his brother in laws, Barney Hudson and Mike Rivers; sister- in- law, Maxine Chisholm.
