William Wesley Griffith, Jr., 84, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama left us peacefully on October 31, 2024 surrounded by family. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, William, will always be remembered for his work ethic and candor.
Born on March 6, 1940, in Grundy, VA to Ona and William (Bill) Griffith. Siblings were the late Steven Griffith and Rose Bardusch. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clara Griffith, and only son, William (Bill) Wesley Griffith, III married to Sonja and two grandchildren, Shrader Griffith Trask married to Brennan and William Grant Griffith.
William was proud of being an Army veteran and served as an MP before taking over the family business, Friendly Market in Grundy, VA. He expanded the store to include fresh produce, as well as added a video rental store and gas station. William always loved to talk about driving his tractor trailer throughout the country to find fresh produce and flowers to sell at Friendly Market.
William and Clara enjoyed many years of retirement living in Deland, FL. They traveled all over the United States in their RV, as well as cruised to Alaska and the Caribbean.
Memorial services will be Monday, November 4th, 2024, at 2pm at Northport Funeral and Cremation Service in Northport, AL.
