A graveside service will be held on Friday May 31, 2024 at 2 pm in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Muriel was born in Beaufort County, where she lived most of her life mainly in the Wilmar area. She graduated from Chicod High School in 1964. She and her husband Kirby owned and operated Kirby's Used Cars for over 30 years. Muriel attended Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She loved to pass the time by playing Bingo.
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alma Coward; step-mom, Ann Woolard and her husband, Kirby Haddock.
She is survived by her: sisters, Judy Woolard and husband, Joe, and Jo Kay Smith and husband, Dennis; brother, Pete Coward;
nephews, Will Smith and wife, Kari, their children, Karis and Emma, and Drew Smith.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beaufort County Humane Society, PO Box 33, Washington, NC 27889.
