Myrna Evelyn Fraser Andres, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, July 15th at age 79.
Myrna was born on October 7, 1945 in Ludington, Michigan to Willard E. and Ruth D. Fraser and frequently reminisced about her "idyllic" 1950s childhood playing among the gardens and statuary of the Midland architectural firm where her father worked.
She graduated from Michigan State University in 1968 and received her Master's Degree in Special Education from Wayne State University. Myrna spent 30 years teaching special education in her home county of Prince William, Virginia, and through her dedication and passion for her students, she touched many lives and made enduring friendships in the area.
Myrna loved history, architecture, her Scottish heritage, and reading and was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manassas, Virginia, where she worshiped in the Catholic faith that was at the center of her life.
Myrna is survived by her two daughters, Kerry L. Costanzo (Stephen) of Front Royal, Virginia (her "Little Lamb") and Kristin E. McCook (Guy) of Fredericksburg, Virginia (her "Little Pumpkin"), as well as thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her "favorite" (only) nephew, Andrew J. Petroski (Jen) of Charlotte, North Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her father, Willard E. Fraser; her mother, Ruth D. Fraser; and her beloved twin sister, Mary Elizabeth Fraser Petroski.
She was, and will forever remain, a treasured and cherished mother, grandmother, and friend in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Students for Life of America, or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manassas, Virginia.
Visitation and prayers with the family will be held on Monday, July 21st from 6 – 8 pm at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home in Dale City, Virginia.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd at 11 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manassas, Virginia, followed by interment at the Chapel Cemetery of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
