 Myrna Gayle McLain Thigpen Davis, age 86, of Baxley passed away January 30, 2025 at her residence under the care of GHC Hospice.

Mrs. Davis was born December 5, 1938 in Appling County to the late Miller Perry “M. P.” McLain and the late Sallie Viola Murphy McLain. She was a member of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Davis was employed at Altamaha School and Dyal School and then retired from the State of Georgia, having worked at the Appling-Jeff Davis Service Center. 

Survivors include her daughters, Victoria Crews and Melanie Jackson both of Baxley; son, John Thigpen of Baxley; grandchildren, Ryan Crews, Skyler (Chelsey) Crews, Forrest (Amber) Thigpen, Jesse (Layla) Byrd and Jasmin (Blake) Foskey; a special great-grandson, Kyle Crews and great-grandchildren, Grant Thigpen, Grayson Nabors, Yazmin Tenorio, Kailena Mock, Toni Mathis, Isabella Bryant and Blakely Foskey.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Daniels and Rev. Jonathan Mann officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan Crews, Forrest Thigpen, Jesse Byrd, Gabriel Mendoza, Luke Lee, Blake Foskey and Kyle Crews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Ann Alexander, Jodi Herrin Nettles, Bill & Henrietta Campbell, Grace Craven, Susie Dean, Dean & Karen Collins, Debbie & A. P. Hunter, Nancy Thornton, Ricky & Dixie Houston and Bill & Strelsa Tharpe.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
