Myron "Dean" Billings October 8, 1955 - July 10, 2024
Myron "Dean" Billings, a beloved race car driver, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend peacefully passed away on July 10th, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on October 8th, 1955, in West Allis, Wisconsin, and was a 1973 West Allis Central High School graduate.
Dean and his four siblings grew up above his parent's bar, Mike's Character Bar, known to the racing community as the Pit Stop. A place where race car drivers would come to laugh, drink, and share the many stories of racing after leaving the races at State Fair Park. This is where Dean's love for racing began. Starting with go-karts as a young teen he transitioned to racing stock cars in 1973 and found his greatest passion in open-wheel midget racing in 1978. Later in his career, he also participated in racing non-wing sprint cars and Silver Crown. He raced with many racing organizations throughout his racing career, achieving many race wins and two championships with Dairyland. Off the track, one of his biggest accomplishments in the racing industry was his business, Quick Change Specialists (QCS) where he created and patented his race car rear-end design.
Dean's children shared his passion for racing as they always traveled with him from racetrack to racetrack, cheering him on in the stands. However, his biggest fan was his Mother Ramona, who you could always find in the stands with her checkered hat on. Unfortunately, on July 4th, 1999, his racing career ended as Dean was involved in a racing accident at Angell Park Speedway. This resulted in him suffering a traumatic brain injury. Following his racing accident, he suffered numerous physical and cognitive challenges up until his passing.
Besides being a devoted racecar driver, he was also a loving Father and friend. His infectious laugh and beautiful smile were just some of his most recognizable character traits. Dean was always someone you could count on no matter what. His loss will be felt by many, and he will be dearly missed. We find comfort in knowing he will be reunited with his mother Ramona, father Myron, sister Debbie, brother Donald (Emil), and many friends who have passed on before him.
He is survived by his three children; Stacy (Mike) Billings-Hughes, Lori (Tony) Ramos, Bryan "Donut" (Jen) Billings; Mother of his children and dear friend, Holly Billings (Arthur Wachal); his grandchildren, Zachary Ramos, Madison Billings, Autumn Ramos, Brinn Ramos, Emily Billings, Easton Ramos, Jaxson Billings; his step-grandchildren Kayla Ramos, Trevor Ramos, Kendyl Hughes; further survived by brother Richard "Pix" Billings, sister Donna (Bob) Nigbur, brother-in-law Bob Boissonnault; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks are extended to his brother-in-law Bob Boissonnault for all the love and care given to Dean after his racing accident.

Condolences to the Family and so sorry for the loss.
I grew up with Dean, went through all of school years, raced go carts, graduated with Dean and stood up in Dean and Holly's wedding.
Many happy memories.
Thoughts and prayers to the family and due to other plans we aren't able to make the service.
