Naida Jensen Obituary

Naida Nadine Jensen 94 of Basalt Idaho passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. It was a beautiful Monday morning October 6, 2025. Highly anticipating a long awaited reunion with her beloved husband Ronald.

Naida was born September 8, 1931 in Eaton Maternity Home in Shelley, Idaho. She was the 3rd child of Andrew and Bertha Johnson. She had an older sister Thora Just , older brother Kenneth Johnson, and two younger sisters Luana who passed as an infant, and Nedra Speas.

Mom’s younger years were full of hard work and sadness. Her family endured two house fires in which they lost her baby sister. But even through the sad times there was much laughter and fun times. One of her favorites was swimming in the canal with the neighbors.

She lived through the depression, working at various jobs on the farm. She and her sisters motto was “wasting time is wasting money”. They knew how to work and work hard.

She attended Firth Schools where she graduated in 1949. She had many good friends. Mom loved to sing and was in the choir. We love to look at the pictures of her in the marching band.

She married her handsome boyfriend Ronald when he returned from the Navy, and shortly after started their family. They raised their six children, Ronda, Cindy, Gwen, Laurie, Drew, and Konnie in Basalt. Where we all have great memories as a family.

When her children were young, due to financial circumstance, she went to work at Idaho Supreme where she was the payroll secretary. She made lifelong friends there. But her biggest sadness was not being able to be home with her children. She retired at the age of 72. After retirement her and dad went everywhere together. They loved going to the “hills”. She really missed those times after dad passed.

Mom was a fantastic seamstress, her girls always had pretty new dresses. She loved to garden and nothing ever went to waste. She was always willing to share what she produced. Mom was a great cook, there was always extra mouths to feed at our house.

Mom will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She served all she knew and was the best missionary until the day she died.

Naida is survived by her posterity of 139 and counting. Also, her special sister-in-law Illene Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her soulmate husband Ronald, her parents and siblings and Ronald’s family. Her grandson Conn Crezee and great grandson Hansen Lee Schulthess.

We as a family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Symbii Home Health and Hospice. Her nurse and friend Kindra. Her caregivers Taunna, Avery, Stefanie, and great granddaughter Tenley. Also, her doctor Joy Taylor. A special thanks to her dear friend Ladell Barrus for her years of care and friendship, mom loved her so much.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9th at the Firth Stake Center, 823 N 675 E, Basalt Idaho. The family invites family and friends to a viewing prior to services at 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.at the stake center in Basalt.

Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
