Nancy D. Carrelli

Nancy D. (Longeway) Carrelli passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024 with loved ones by her side. She was the daughter of Hazel Girard (Champagne) Longeway and Charles E. Longeway. Nancy was 90 years old.
Nancy was born in Watertown, Ma. and lived in Worcester County all her life. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School in 1950. She worked in the garment industry most her life and had been employed at Nancy Howard Sportswear and the Worcester Coat Company as a seamstress and became a self-taught tailor. She was chairwoman and union representative of the ILGWU Union at the Worcester Coat Company. In her retirement years, Nancy worked at the Oakdale Nursing and Rehab as an activities assistant.
Nancy had a passion for fashion and sewing, she took great pride in her appearance, always dressing to the latest trends. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and SHOPPING. She was a fabulous cook and passed down her wonderful cooking skills and old family recipes along with her humor. Holidays and times with family were cherished and brought much happiness to her; as well as always helping someone in need.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah J. Carrelli-Stefanski and her husband Gerald of East Wareham, MA; her son Paul J. Carrelli and his wife Dawn Carrelli of Shrewsbury, MA; two grandchildren, Christopher Carrelli and his wife Nicole of Auburn, MA and Kelli Dodd Durant of Fairhaven, MA; one great grandchild Aiden Durant of Fairhaven, MA; two beloved brothers, Louis Longeway and Charles Longeway and his wife Cheryl all of Worcester; also survived by her ever-present nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her treasured grandson, Paul J. "PJ" Carrelli in 2022; a sister Joan Tiscone and a brother John Longeway.
Relatives and friends may visit with Nancy's family on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury followed by a prayer service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
