Nancy Carol Coston, 76, of Chesapeake, Virginia, formerly of Milton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. A devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend, Nancy's warmth, creativity, and unwavering love left an impact on all who knew her.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, Nancy dedicated much of her life to early childhood education. She taught preschool at Parkdale Private School and Children's World Learning Centers, where her patience, imagination, and care positively impacted the lives of generations of children.
Nancy shared over four decades of marriage with her beloved husband, Kenneth Allen Coston. Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family. She was the proud mother of Annette Renee Skinner (Rick), Phillip Duane Coston (Leanne), and Steven Morton Coston (Karen). Her love extended to her many cherished grandchildren: Morgan McElroy (Kevin) Mason Skinner, Kelsey Skinner, Darren Coston, Anna Coston, Carlie Coston, Sophia Coston, Carl Coston, James Coston, Charlie Coston.
Great grandchildren: Jade McElroy, Kai Goff-McElroy, Anastasia McElroy, and Audriana McElroy.
Nancy is also survived by her dear sister, Connie Lynn James, brother, Michael Jones (Laura); and many extended family and friends.
She had a passion for family, photography, scrapbooking, and traveling, especially when it involved time with her grandchildren. Nancy was a longtime member of Great Bridge United Methodist Church, where she found spiritual community and fellowship.
Those who knew Nancy will remember her not only as a guiding hand but also as a joyful presence-"a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, a little bit best friend, and a little bit partner in crime."
