Nancy Spies Cummins

Nancy Spies Cummins, age 102, died peacefully on December 6, 2025. She was the daughter of Henry and Mary Spies, of Square Farm, Easton, MD. In 1994 she graduated from the University of Maryland and married Dick Cummins, a B-24 navigator during WWII, who became a Lt. Colonel in the USAF. Like many military families, they raised their children across America. She enjoyed sewing, decorating, cooking, gardening, entertaining, reading and travelling.

Dick passed away in 1991. Nancy is survived by her youngest brother, Bill Spies, three children: Carolyn, Jim and his wife Nancy, and Mary Kay and her Husband Alan Korb, four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on January 30. 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in Berlin, Md. Interment of her ashes will occur at the family cemetery in Whaleyville, Maryland.
