Nancy Anna Blumenschein Howard went to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Memorial Hospital.
Nancy graduated from Marysville High School in 1964 where she played basketball. Her daughters followed in her footsteps to also play basketball along with other sports in high school. She retired from Nestle R & D Center (Westreco). She was a woman of strong faith and a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always put her family first. She used her talents in sewing and quilting to make each of her grandchildren two quilts. She also loved to spend her time making various gifts for others such as wall hangings, baby blankets and a menagerie of other items. She was a caring, loving friend who especially enjoyed her dear friends in the quilting group.
Born October 5, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine (Kleiber) Blumenschein. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Clyde Hicks, Roy (Mary) Burton, and Raymond Burton.
She was married to John Howard on April 28th, 1973 by Rev. Oscar Decker at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John; daughters, Lesley (Aaron) Kay, Sara Bolden (Ben Johnson), and Rita (Kevin) Pierson; grandchildren, Jacob Edwards, Nicholas Bolden, Andrew and Matthew Kay, and Hannah, Katherine, and Evan Pierson. She is also survived by her brother, Dudley (Charlotte) Blumenschein; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy (Theresa) Conkle and Virgil (Brenda) Howard, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
