Nancy Gebhart Korb, age 75, of Powell, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 18, 2025. Nancy was born on February 19, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to James Franklin Gebhart and Virginia McFeeters Gebhart. She attended Penn Hills High School, and it was during that time when her brother introduced her to her beloved husband, Robert Korb. Nancy began college at Ohio University, transferred and graduated from the University of Michigan. Nancy and Robert were married in 1971 at Beulah Presbyterian Church with a reception at Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh. Nancy began working as an elementary school teacher in Saginaw, Michigan after college and then dedicated her life to being an extraordinary home maker. If you knew Nancy, she did everything perfectly, from cooking delicious meals, sewing anything you needed, to hosting dinners for family and friends. By many, her nickname was "Nancy Stewart" because she was so talented and creative. Her most proud accomplishment was being a mother to Rebecca and Elizabeth, who were her pride and joy. Nancy loved going to Longboat Key, Florida with her family which became a second home. Her mother taught the family how to look for the green flash at sunset, so she watched countless sunsets on the balcony and beach hoping to see the rare phenomenon. Nancy enjoyed playing tennis on a team at Worthington Hills Country Club where she played for many years. She was involved in volunteering at TWIG, an organization that supports Nationwide Children's Hospital. Nancy was always proud to wear her maize and blue to support her Michigan Wolverines, despite living in the Buckeye state. She had a soft spot for nature and loved to plant flowers and watch her hummingbirds outside. Nancy and Robert enjoyed traveling and their last trip together was an Alaskan cruise. Most of all, Nancy was happiest at home spending time with her family. She was thrilled to become a grandmother and the grandchildren affectionately called her "Gaga". Nancy adored being with her grandchildren and they will miss her dearly. The grandchildren loved celebrating holidays with her, but especially Christmas as "Gaga" always made it magical. She will be forever cherished by her husband of 54 years, Robert Korb; two daughters Rebecca (Jason) Varey and Elizabeth (Steve) Graham of Powell, Ohio; four grandchildren, Isabella and Westin (Varey) and Bentley and Madeline (Graham); and niece Cady Gebhart of Loveland, Colorado. Nancy is preceded in death by her father James Gebhart; stepdad Wilbert Woodings; brother James Gebhart Jr. and mother Virginia Woodings. A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held at the Liberty Barn Church on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 3:00pm in Powell. Family will receive friends after the service for food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Alzheimer's Association- Central Ohio www.alz.org/centralohio or Dress for Success- Columbus www.dfscmh.org/donate in Nancy's honor. We extend our sincere gratitude to the exceptional care givers at Dublin Retirement Village Memory Care and Capital City Hospice who provided care and comfort to Nancy and support to her family during the last several years. For those of you who knew Nancy, her favorite place to spend time was Longboat Key, Florida. The next time you are on a beach and looking at the sunset, try to catch the green flash in honor of Nancy.
