She was born in Lowell on July 27, 1939, and was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (McArdle) Laverty.
Nancy was raised in Lowell and was a life long employee of the Town of Chelmsford, working in the Chelmsford School System and as an assessor for the town. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in the garden, planting flowers, and shopping.
Nancy is survived by her sons, John Maher of Portland, OR, and Patrick "PJ" Maher and his wife Danielle of Nashua; her grandchildren, Justin and Mackenzie; and her sister Janet Laverty of Chelmsford.
Her funeral services and interment will be held privately.
Memorial donations may be made in Nancy's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
