Nancy Maro

Nancy Elizabeth (Knutstad) Maro, 93, of Lakewood, NJ and formerly of Brick, NJ, passed away quietly the evening of Tuesday, April 15, 2025. The first daughter of Lionel and Ina Clayton, Belmar, NJ, born on March 11, 1932, Nancy grew up at the Jersey Shore and was a 1950 graduate of Manasquan High School. She was predeceased by her brother Lionel Clayton, Jr., and husbands Anthony Ronald Maro(2nd), and Odd Knutstad (1st). Survived by her sisters Alice Fiorillo, Elizabeth Russell, and Gladys Hopkins, her children Lisa Knutstad, Kristopher Knutstad and his wife Kim, Lori O'Brien and her husband Terence O'Brien, Kirk Knutstad. Nancy was the grandmother of Shana and husband Addison Brown, Casey O'Brien, Richard and his wife Merica Grape, Randall grape, and great grandchildren Seraphina, Bacchus, and Zeno.
Nancy was a homemaker in her early years and worked at Steinbach and Silver Threads in her later years. She was a communicant of St Martha Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant, where she was very active volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, and attended many church and VFW dinners there. Nancy enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She loved shopping garage sales, and thrift stores with her family, and she was often found playing BINGO at Leisure Park. Nancy will be sorely missed by her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. They will miss her delicious peanut butter balls, chocolate dump cake, apple sauce, and fruitcakes.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday April 23, 2025, from 4-7 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 pm.
