Nancy E. (Guy) Mento, 87, of Salem, passed away on August 15, 2024 in Salem Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jospeh D. Mento.
Born in Salem on December 21, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Louise M. (Viselli) Guy, and the late Joseph F. Guy. Nancy was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School in 1954. She had been employed at Sylvania prior to working in her family's restaurant Bertini's. She retired from the City of Salem as a paraprofessional after 30 years.
Nancy enjoyed cooking Sunday lunches for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, rooting for the Red Sox and especially loved to watch her grandchildren enjoying their activities. She had been a parishioner of Saint Mary's Italian Church in Salem until it closed in 2003. More recently, she attended Saint Anne Parish in Salem.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, John and Alyse Mento of Epping, NH, Janet and Ed Sadoway of Danvers and Joe and Tricia Mento of Danvers, her grandchildren, Stephanie DiLeo and her husband Chris, Kristin Mento, Scott Sadoway, Nicole Sadoway and her fiancé Jeffrey Rego, Samantha and Thomas Mento, her great grandson Dominic DiLeo, her sisters-in-law, Sally Guy and Lena Mento and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph F. Guy, Jr. and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
At Nancy's request her funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nancy's name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. Danvers, MA, 01923.
