BEVERLY – Ms. Gail Louise (Desjardins) Gauthier, 83 of Beverly and the devoted partner of the late John Robie passed way unexpectedly on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Beverly Hospital with family by her side.

Born in Salem, Gail was the daughter of the late Richard and Edna M. (Foster) Desjardins. Gail was raised and educated in Salem, attending St. Mary Grammar and continued her education at Salem High School graduating in 1959.

Throughout her life, Gail wore many hats, from her early day's waitressing at Keefe's Restaurant to her later roles in sales at Lechmere and as an administrative assistant at Head Start in Peabody. No matter the job, she always embraced her responsibilities with a smile and a kindness that brightened the lives of those around her. A natural caregiver, Gail had a sincere talent for fussing over others while simultaneously shying away from attention for herself. Her family affectionately referred to her as "Wonder Woman," recognizing her superhuman ability to juggle life with grace.

Gail's passions were varied and vibrant. Her love for gardening reflected her nurturing spirit, and her fondness for the beach brought her peace and joy. A die-hard New England sports fan, she never missed a Celtics game and created countless memories attending New England Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins games with her family, a tradition they continued annually. A true enthusiast, she had her own good luck tactics, lighting her Celtics candle each and every game and cheering passionately alongside her sister, even from miles away in California.

The moments that meant the most to Gail were those spent with her loving family, especially during memorable trips with her sisters. Together they explored beautiful destinations like Colorado, Margaritaville in Florida, Acadia, and Mohegan Island off the coast of Maine cherishing the laughter and love that bonded them together. Gail's beautiful soul will continue to live on in the lives that she touched. She will be deeply missed and remembered fondly.

Gail is survived by her children, Pamela Thompson of Beverly, Scott Gauthier of Norton, Jay Gauthier and his wife, Susan of Danvers and Danielle Gauthier of Peabody; her step-children, Thomas Gauthier of TN and Diane Rosenfield and her husband, Larry of Lynnfield; her former daughter-in-law, Bridget Walworth and her husband David of Methuen; her grandchildren, Carissa Alessandro and her husband, Nick of Methuen, Kristen Gauthier and her partner, Joseph Harrold of Salem, NH, Andre Gauthier of MA, Wilbur Murphy of Peabody and Melinda Robie of Tewksbury; her great-granddaughters, Emma and Natalie Gail Alessandro. Gail is also survived by her loving siblings; Dorothy Courtney of Huntington Beach, CA, Helen MacKay and her husband, Steven of Waterboro, ME and Richard Desjardins of MA; her beloved nieces and nephews; Kelly, Mary Ellen, Liam, Colin and Brenna. In addition to her longtime partner John, and her parents Richard and Edna, Gail was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Charles Desjardins, her son-in-law, Joel Thompson, brother-in-law, David Courtney and nephew David Courtney.
