July 2, 1939 – September 6, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Nana and NanNan. Nancy Lewis Musick, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. Born on July 2, 1939, in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Codis Boster Lewis and Otto Lewis. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph Norris Musick, her brothers Don Lewis and Herb Lewis, and her sister Katie Lewis Miller.
Nancy was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering love for her family. She devoted her life to nurturing those around her, always offering a listening ear, wise counsel, and a warm smile. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. She had a way of making you feel as if you are the most important person in the world to her. Nancy was a great listener and storyteller. She loved to tell stories about her life on the farm, her high school years, attending cosmetology school in Columbus and how she got her start in the cosmetology business. Of course, she loved her two daughters, Melanie and Marilyn, and raising them with her late husband was a joy to her.
She loved family meals and baking with her grandchildren, and was an avid reader. She was an active member of The National Cosmetology Association and Eastern Stars. Nancy also loved sewing and crocheting.
Nancy graduated from Madison Plains High School and then obtained her cosmetology license. She owned and managed three beauty salons for a number of years. Nancy went to Ohio State University for a cosmetology teaching license and then to Ashland University for her Masters Degree of Education. She loved learning and teaching others. She retired from Columbus City Schools in 1996.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Melanie Boise (Terry) and Marilyn Dennis (Bruce); her cherished grandchildren, Mikayla Brown (Jacob), Meleah Breniser (Lucas), Spencer Dennis, and Joe Boise; and her precious great-grandchildren, Jonah Brown and Malachi Brown. She looked forward to visits with her "boys" and would tell us all the different stories of Jonah's antics - What a joy they were to her! Also, she is survived by her future granddaughter in law, Hannah Henry. She was so looking forward to Joe and Hannah's wedding.
Nancy is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Carrie Biggs, and brother-in-law, Martin Musick, along with several nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Nancy's legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all those blessed to have known her.
