Nancy Nunez

Nancy Nunez (Neé Lara), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Her passing leaves a profound emptiness in the lives of those who knew her, but faithfully know she has reunited with her cherished husband Manuel Nunez who preceded her in death, and whom she deeply loved and missed. Nancy was born in Havana, Cuba November 09, 1931 to Julian and Hermenegilda (Neé Perez) Lara. While in Cuba Nancy earned her high school diploma and then migrated to the United States in 1957. Nancy was naturalized in 1977 and was so proud to become a United States Citizen! Nancy was a hardworking, thoughtful person who would always send cards for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, get well and even thinking of you cards just to keep in touch. Nancy's thoughtfulness came from her Godmother Carmen del Nodal who helped raise her as a child along with her sons, who Nancy viewed as her brothers. Nancy also had a gift for organizing and cleaning and those qualities kept her employed for many years at a housekeeper and later as a laborer at a local meat market to earn money to support her family. Nancy always believed in a hard work ethic and instilled that quality in her only daughter Dolores. Nancy had a wonderful sense of humor, and kindness felt by all who knew her. Nancy was a nurturing supportive mother even until the end. Nancy is survived by her daughter Dolores (Stephen) Studier, grandchildren Karson and Krista Studier, a sister and brother in law Pura Nunez Seijas, and Jesus Seijas, a host of nieces and nephews Josefina Garcia, Roberto (Margaret) Garcia, Luisa Osegueda, Rocio Seijas, Paula Seijas and Daniel Seijas. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Manuel, son Baby Boy Nunez, both parents Julian and Hermenegilda Lara, a brother and sister-in-law Jesus and Mercedes Garcia, a brother-in-law Luis Vazquez and Soledad Osegueda. In addition, Nancy had cousins that also preceded her in death she viewed as siblings Olga Husinka, Nilda Rodriguez, and Migdalia Samalea.
