Nancy Richardson Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Nancy Richardson (nee Fennell) at the age of 64 on February 7, 2023, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved mother of Michael (Maia) and Sarah (Stephen). Cherished grandmother of Patrick, Charlotte and William. Much loved sister of Michael (Jean), Cathy (Michael), David (Nancy), Paul (Tammie), Sandra (Jeff). Fondly remembered by her large extended family and many friends. Predeceased by her loving husband Patrick, her parents Agnes and Lou Fennell and her treasured Nan. Nancy was the kindest human with the biggest heart, absolutely adored by all who knew her. She was born in St. John's and remained a proud Newfoundlander even after her family settled in Ottawa after a series of moves. Nancy died peacefully at home. Special thanks to Nancy's GP Dr. Reta French and her palliative care physician Dr. Jacky Lai.
Nancy's family invite you to join them for a visitation at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Thursday, February 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa, 30 Cleary Avenue, Ottawa on Friday, February 17 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception.For those who cannot join the service in person, you are invited to join virtually by clicking here In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to

Dear Michael, Sarah and your families,
We are saddened to hear of your Mom passing. Our family really enjoyed living next to you all those years ago on Danaher Drive. Denis used to compete with your dad on who could have the cleanest driveway in winter ( your dad won of course). I loved the fact that Nancy and I could rely on each other for children herding when she was called in unexpectedly to work or Denis was late coming home so I could go teach at the college. We missed you all like crazy when we moved to Australia. Please know our collective hearts are heavy and wished we had lived closer.
