Joanie was born March 31, 1938, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Vaughn and Mary (Lubbehusen) Miller. She graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1956.
She was employed with Central Indiana Orthopedics for many years and tended to her rental properties in Muncie.
Joanie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and wintered in Florida. She was a member of Gaston United Methodist Church and also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Mrs. Satterfield is survived by two children, Teresa (Tom) Sackmaster, Michael (Susan) Tschuor; grandchildren, Rachel (Rob) Young, Timothy (Andrea) Sackmaster, Nicholas (Allison) Tschuor, Mandi (Erick) Lowe, and Emily (Ryan) Hitchcock; 7 great grandchildren; her brother, Gordon (Malvia) Miller; step children, Steven Satterfield, Sharon Eggenberger, and Sandy Benedict.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Satterfield; and a great granddaughter, Leah Marie Lowe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 8, 2024 at The Meeks Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant Chapel. Private burial will take place in Saunders Cemetery, Daleville.
The funeral service may be viewed live, online, at Facebook.com/meeksmortuary.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Leah's Love, P.O. Box 951, Muncie, IN 47308.
