Nancy G. Spreen, of Anderson Township, however her heart never left Sayler Park where she was raised. She passed away on August 5, 2021 at the age of 86. Nancy was born in Cincinnati on September 21, 1934 to Charles and Alma (VanConey) Spreen. She had one brother Charles and never married, however was like a mother to many of her nieces, nephews and cousins. She graduated from Western Hills High School in 1952, and was hired by Prudential Insurance and transferred for many years to Akron, Ohio. Later, she became the Director of Receivables for the Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania Division of Prudential Insurance in Cincinnati and moved back to her home town. After retirement, Nancy worked as an agent for Sibcy Cline Real Estate from January 1996 until passing. She loved traveling with the love of her life, Howard Whitson, who, unfortunately also passed away earlier this year. Nancy also volunteered for many years for Meals On Wheels and other charities. Nancy was a lifetime member of Eden Chapel Methodist Church and a supportive member of the Cincinnati Jazz Hall of Fame.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Alma (VanConey) Spreen; brother: Charles Spreen Jr.; love of her life: Howard Whitson.
Survivors include her sister-in-law: Sharon Spreen; Aunt Jean Brumfield, Age 91 of Osgood, Indiana; nephew: Greg Spreen & niece: Stephanie Spreen Henderson, both of Tucson, Arizona; cousins: Robert Gary (Joy) Spreen of Mason, Virginia Kay Spreen Casey of Cincinnati, Patricia Marlene Spreen (Denny) Hotchkiss of Milford, Jim (Elaine) Story from Florida and other cousins from Van Coney Family.
Gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 11 am until the time of the Memorial Services 12 pm at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 138 Monitor Ave. Sayler Park, OH 45233. Inurnment will be at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597.
