Natalia Berreles Moreno, sister of Our Lord Jesus Christ, went Home to rest on October 27, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. She has been reunited with her parents, Alejo and María Berrelez, siblings, husband, Gílberto Gomez Moreno, and infant son, José "Joey" Moreno.
Her tremendous faith, hope, and love for God was evident through the eighty-five years joyfully spent loving her family all those she encountered, whether family, friend, or stranger. She enjoyed fifty-two beautiful years of marriage, making her husband Gílberto Gomez Moreno, the happiest man in the world. Their marriage was filled with abundant blessings. The most precious of those blessings were their children, Esmeralda, Ester, Elizabeth, Gilbert, Natalie, and Joey Moreno. She enjoyed watching her family continue to grow with her granddaughter Angel Torres McQuatters, husband James McQuatters, and great-granddaughters Gabriela McQuatters and Isabella McQuatters; grandson Tracy Torres, Jr.; granddaughter Crystal Flowers and husband Stephen Flowers; granddaughter Hannah Moreno; and longtime friend, Linda McReynolds. Truly her most cherished moments were those spent in the company of her family and numerous loved ones across the country.
Above all, her priority in life was always to do the will of Our Lord and serve Him in whatever way He called her, whether at work or at play, her entire life was a prayer of praise and thanksgiving through dancing and singing. She truly followed St. Paul's exhortation to, "Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints." (Ephesians 6:18). Natalia was a great prayer warrior as she strove to live out the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy, so in great confidence, her life echoes St. Paul's words with a heart abounding with love, "I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his appearance," (2 Timothy 4:7).
Please join Natalia's family in celebration of a life well-lived.
