Nathan Allan Johnson

November 5, 1973 - August 23, 2021

Nathan "Nate" Allan Johnson, age 47, of St. Louis Park Minnesota went home to be with his Savior on Monday, August 23, 2021 at his St. Louis Park home.

Nate was born November 5, 1973 in Portland, Oregon. Moving with his parents to Minnesota at age 3, he spent the rest of his youth and adult life living in St. Louis Park.

Nate was actively involved in his youth group at St. Louis Park Evangelical Free Church and had the opportunity to participate in a few mission trips, one being to Venezuela. While attending SLP Jr and Sr High, Nate participated in the football programs and was a devoted Oriole. His Sr High career ended after a knee injury. But that love for the game and the Orioles carried forward in his life as he later had a son, Lucas, to enjoy football and baseball with as spectators and then as Lucas began to play for the Orioles in Middle School and High School. Along with football, Nate loved his MN Twins and followed them closely. Lucas and Dad enjoyed critiquing the many MN Vikings games they watched together on tv. During her middle school years, Nate's daughter Mariah also became involved in sports. She plays ball with the St. Louis Park Girl's Fastpitch program and he loved watching his little "peanut" at bat and on the field. He had the best of both worlds...a son and a daughter to enjoy sports with. Mariah was able to give him the experience that only a little girl could, and that of attending dance recitals and enjoying "girlie" stuff. As a single parent, the road was not always easy, but they traveled the ups and downs together.

Upon graduation from St. Louis Park Sr High, Nate worked various jobs in the area. From warehouse to meatcutter, custodian to stock manager. With each job he made new friends. Anyone who was around Nate for long became a friend. His big-hearted compassion and caring endeared him to many.

Nate enjoyed fishing, golf and being with friends. But his greatest love here on earth were his kids, Lucas and Mariah. He was one proud Dad...and he still is.

We will miss our much-loved son, brother, father and friend. His life had not always been easy here...but his best life has just begun.

See you one day Nathan at that great reunion in heaven where there will be no more goodbyes.
