Neil Jerome Burger was the greatest Christmas gift imaginable to the Burger family on December 25th, 2002 and was unexpectedly and tragically taken from us after only 19 years. Neil was homeschooled along with his amazing sister Natalie all the way through high school. His family is blessed to have had all this time raising him each day in a loving home, getting to spend a lot of time with him as he grew into a young man. His grandparents Will and Glenna were very involved in his life, helping provide an even more loving and nurturing environment through his childhood. After graduation, Neil worked for a local non-profit and then at a local restaurant. Neil was a lover of animals and spent a lot of time with his precious cat Daisy and his poodles, Stella and Henry. Neil was a gifted theater actor and was cast is many plays at PLT and PSC. He was also involved in improv acting for many years where he never failed to get the room rolling with laughter. Neil also spent a lot of time with family, enjoying many trips to Disney and various state parks where he loved hiking in nature. Neil loved lots of genres of music and enjoyed attending concerts with his family. His favorite home hobby was building Lego sets, which ended up all over the house. Neil loved being with friends and they loved him. When he came into a room of friends, everyone would yell "NEIL!" (Think of the character Norm in the TV Series "Cheers").
Neil is survived by his parents, Karl and Karen Burger, his beloved sister Natalie, Grandparents Will and Glenna Stockland and Betty Jo Burger, Aunt Anna Church and cousins Damon, Seth and Nathan. Previously departed loved ones include Grandfather Voyd Burger and Uncle Michael Jerome Stockland. Neil also has many loving relatives all around the country who are grieving his passing.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 4:00 PM ~ 6:00 PM at Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home, 124 West Gregory Street, Pensacola, FL. 32502.
Services will be Friday, 11:00 AM, November 18, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 24 West Wright Street, Pensacola, FL. 32501 with interment following to Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

In Lieu of flowers, the family would rather have money put in his gofund me page or given to us to donate to a charity to honor him. We are still choosing a couple of charities that we feel he would want.
