Neil Guy Stevenson Jr.

STEVENSON, Neil Jr. July 8, 2024. Age 83. Beloved husband of Evelyn (nee Harris) for over 60 years. Loving father of Sandra (Joseph) Manzo and Cheryl (Richard) Beamish. Adored grandfather of Ryan Manzo and Lauren Manzo. He was predeceased by his parents, Neil Sr. and Christine Stevenson, and siblings, James (Kathy) Stevenson and Nancy Thompson.
Neil was born in Highland Park, MI and raised in Farmington. He attended Farmington High School where he graduated in 1959 and met his wife Evelyn. Neil attended both Western Michigan University and Michigan State University. He married Evelyn in 1963 and would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on August 10th. They moved to Sterling Heights where they raised their two daughters and met many lifelong friends. Neil worked as a computer programmer and served as the Vice President for McDonald Computer Corporation in Southfield, MI until his retirement in 2001.
Neil was an avid sports fan, especially watching his beloved Detroit Tigers or his grandson's hockey games. But, he was also a softy at heart and enjoyed his granddaughters many dance recitals over the years. He also enjoyed bowling, daily crosswords, traveling, watching Gunsmoke or John Wayne and eating ice cream. But his real passion, as many of you already know, was golf. Whether it be going to the driving range, the weekly Sunday rounds with his best pals, or teaching his grandson how to swing a club in the front yard, he was always ready to go at the drop of a hat.
He will be greatly missed by his loving friends and family.
