Nellie Inez Minix

Nellie Inez Eason Minix, age 88, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, GA. Nellie was born on April 20, 1937, in Newnan, GA.

Nellie held numerous jobs in her life; however, the longest job was at Huddle House, where she worked until her retirement, for 25 years. She lived in Newnan for 86-plus years, but since June of 2024, she was a resident of Brightmoor Nursing Home in Griffin, GA, until her passing.

The funeral service is Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan, with Pastor Brian Hosmer officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 PM until service time.

Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis W. Eason, Lula Lee Bryant Cochran, and Gordan Cochran; daughter, Rita McMichael Kimbler Campese; brother, Billy Eason, and sister, Peggy Eason.

She is survived by children, Brenda Bearden & family, Arlene Medeiros, Wayne Kee & family, Richard Kee & family, and Jamie & Jennifer Minix. She is also survived by grandchildren, Brandy & Jenn Jackson, Mickenzi Cook, Hunter Haygood, April Hill, Joni Medeiros, along with numerous other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Kira, Bryce, Roland, Berkeley, Zoey, Johnny, and other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Nellie is also survived by her boyfriend, Ricky Costley; caregiver, Faith Chatham; special friend, Barbara Carden, and her fur baby, Boo-Boo (Duke).
