Nelson F. Plunto passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born on November 12, 1950, and was a life-long resident of Bristol, PA. He was the son of the late Nelson and Virginia Plunto. He leaves behind, His brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Roberta Plunto, Annette Cordero, who was like a daughter to him, and brother-in-law, Dru Mandel. He was preceded in death by his late wife Frances and his sister Elaine Mandel.
As a standout athlete, Nelson played football and wrestled at Woodrow Wilson High School and earned a full wrestling scholarship at Temple University. He held a blackbelt in Karate and a brown belt in Judo, and he also exemplified discipline and respect in the martial arts community. His fascination with dinosaurs, fossils, and rocks was not just a hobby but a vocation. Nelson turned his passion into a business selling fossils and artifacts.
He will truly be missed by both family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Saturday February 10, 2024, from 9:30am - 11am at Molden Funeral Chapel, 133 Otter St. Bristol, PA 19007. A memorial service will take place at 11am followed by burial in Beechwood Cemetery, Bensalem, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to www.samaritanspurse.org/donate.
