Nettie Ward Wilkins, 77, of Moore, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Restoration at Westgate. A native of Spartanburg, she was born on September 16, 1947, a daughter of the late James Robert and Elsie Coates Ward and wife of the late Jonathan Wayne Wilkins.
She was a co-founder of Wilkins Opticians, an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a former church treasurer and greeter. She was an avid tennis player at the Westside Club, enjoyed spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren and loved helping people.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey S. Wilkins (Kathy); daughter-in-law, Karen Lee Wilkins; grandchildren, Jason Bryant (Rachel), Jonathan Wilkins (Jessica) and Joshua Wilkins (Emily); great grandchildren, Cole Bryant, Luke Bryant, Wesley Wilkins, Ginger Wilkins, Sarah Jo Wilkins, Mary Kathryn Wilkins and Isla June Wilkins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jay D. Wilkins and Robert Mark Wilkins: her siblings, Madge Ward Welker, Judy Ward Lee, Kenneth Ward, Ronn Ward, Donnie Ward, Richard (Buddy) Ward and Jean Ward O’Grady.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 am Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 797 Old Georgia Road, Moore, SC 29369. A memorial service will follow at 12 noon in the sanctuary conducted by the Rev. Joe Burnett and the Rev. Jim Oliver.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church or Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, 419 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
