Nicholas G. "Nick" Carpenter

Nicholas G. "Nick" Carpenter, age 38, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, following a 1-year battle of being diagnosed with cancer. Nick was born on July 11, 1985, in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of John Carpenter and Tammy Olivarez. Nick married the love of his life, Rachel Hansen on January 14, 2012. He had a heart of gold, he was also a jack of all trades, he was always willing to help his family and friends out with any project they needed to complete. He also loved to work on his vehicles, especially by adding his personal touch to them, customizing them in some way. Nick also enjoyed hunting, especially with his crossbow, he also enjoyed fishing, camping, and sitting by the campfire with his family and friends. Family time was very important to him, always taking the time daily to spend with family.
One of Nicks dreams after being diagnosed with cancer was to take a family trip out east to spend time at the ocean, last week he was able to spend his last few weeks with his family in Myrtle Beach to put his feet in the water and spend that special quality time with those he loved the most.
Nick will be deeply missed by his family and many friends, including his wife Rachel; his children, Victoria and Brayden Carpenter; his parents Tammy (William) Olivarez Lukomski and John (Kris) Carpenter, his dad Otto Schladweiler, his grandparents, Eudelia Olivarez and Nelrose Carpenter; his brothers, Dustin (Tiffany Shamoun) Carpenter, Josh Schladweiler and Noah Schladweiler; sisters, Erica Carpenter and Tasha Schladweiler; sisters-in-law Lisa Schlotman and Jenni Hansen; Rachel's parents, Jim and Cindy Hansen; and by a good friend Billy Doucette. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews' cousins and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Tyler Manthe.
Nick's family would like to thank the teams at the Marshfield Oncology Clinic for all the care the gave him.
UPDATE: A Celebration of Nick's life is set for Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. at Switched II 2609 State Hwy 73, Nekoosa, WI 54457
