It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Nicholas William Dovidio. Nicholas passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023 at Salem Hospital where he was surrounded by loving family and friends.
Nick recently celebrated his 30th birthday and during his too short time on this earth, he left us the gift of being better people for having known him. His warmth, kindness, generosity, caring, and passion for life will always be remembered.
Nick was born on May 4, 1993 and grew up in
Marblehead, MA. He was a loving little boy with boundless energy, zooming to the front door to greet family screaming and hollering with joy. You could not wait to be around him because he loved your company so much, an irresistible quality he kept his entire life.
Nick was a 2011 graduate of Marblehead High School and attended Colby-Sawyer College and Salem State University. He worked as a technician in HVAC for Tavano Mechanical Systems in Hyannis. He was an avid sports enthusiast, loving football, baseball, basketball, and golf. He never missed a chance to watch a Patriots game with family and friends, play pick-up football or basketball with his neighborhood friends, or throw the ball around with his younger nephew and niece whenever they were together. Most recently, Nick was passionate about playing volleyball and spending time with his teammates. He could not wait to share videos of his successful slams! Nick had the brightest and most loving spirit. His family and friends will remember his warm smile, extreme generosity, and never-ending enthusiasm for having fun. He loved his family and friends deeply. He showed his generosity by being an organ donor so that others could live through him.
Nick is survived by his devoted parents, Mathew and Pamela Dovidio, his loving sister and brother-in-law, Marisa and Michael MacClary, his loving brother, Justin Dovidio, his adoring nephew and niece, Callahan and Rosalie MacClary, and many loving and caring extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held at Chapman Funeral Home located at 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151)
