Nicholas Frank Lucas, age 82 of Fort Gratiot, passed away on August 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 24, 1943 in Port Huron. He was the son of the late Frank and Helen Lucas. Nicholas married Deborah G. Morden on October 4, 1969 in Port Huron, she passed away July 7, 2025. First and foremost, Nicholas loved being a dad and a grandpa. Nicholas served honorably in the United States Army. He also received his associate degree from St. Clair County Community College. Nicholas was a dedicated employee of 33 years at Detroit Edison - St. Clair Belle River Power Plant. He was also a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Port Huron Yacht Club. He loved boating and was an avid Harley Davidson rider. Nicholas is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Jeffrey Mugridge, five grandchildren; Nicholas Ealy, Noah Ealy, Zackary Mugridge, Andrew Mugridge and Lukas Mugridge, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Linda Morden, sister-in-law, Colleen (A.K. Geelani) Morden, nephew, Jeffrey (Nancy) Morden, their son, Cameron, and a niece, MacKenzie Grosse, and his two cats, Abby and Fluffy and his grand dogs, Willy and Beau. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 12:00pm (Noon) at Colonial Woods Missionary Church – 3240 Pine Grover Ave., Port Huron. Pastor Phil Whetstone will officiate. Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. The memorial visitation will be at the church from 11:00am until time of service at Noon. St. Clair County Allied Veterans and the United States Army will conduct Military Honors. Memorial Tributes can be made to Colonial Woods Missionary Church. Cremation arrangements in care of Jowett Funeral Home – 1634 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron. Jowett Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Lucas family.
