Nicholas Christopher Nicky" Roddy, 42, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Rensselaer, New York, passed away on September 7, 2025. Born in Albany, New York, and raised in Rensselaer, Nick will be remembered for his warm heart, love of family, and passion for working with his hands. He was the beloved son of Ramona and Stephen Roddy Sr. and younger brother to John Van Bramer. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Stephen Roddy Jr., whom he deeply loved and cherished throughout his life. Nicky also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him with love. He also leaves behind he loyal dog and best friend, Jax. Nicky worked for the City of Rensselaer and the City of Albany and held many CDL jobs where he found his true love for truck driving. His work took him many places, but his greatest joy was found in the people he met along the way. Nick loved spending time in the garage with his father and sharing special moments with his mother, as well as surrounding himself with friends. To know Nicky was to love him. He could light up any room he walked into and was always the life of the party. He had a way of making those around him feel safe, loved, and at home. Whether he was lending a hand to fix a car or pulling one of his infamous pranks, Nicky brought joy, laughter, and comfort to everyone lucky enough to know him. A private family service will be held in his honor in Rensselaer, NY, where Nicky's roots and heart will forever remain. In Nicky's memory, his loved ones ask that you honor him by doing something kind for someone else, as he was always quick to do for others. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nick's name to Out of the Pits, a pit bull rescue organization.
