Nicholas Michael Simak Jr.

Nicholas Michael Simak Jr., was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away on February 29, 2024, following health complications from a stroke, at the age of 79. He was born on November 29, 1944 in New York to his loving parents Krestina and Nicholas Sr. Nick. He was born in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, NY and attended Fort Hamilton High School, as well as graduating from Brooklyn College in 1975. He is a veteran for the United States Army and served valiantly in the Vietnam War as a Lieutenant Colonel army medic. He later became an entrepreneur/owner of NMS Solutions Group, Inc, and B'KLYN solutions in 1987.He has called Arizona his home for over two decades volunteering at the Juvenile Corrections Center and graduated from the citizens police academy. Among his many accomplishments he became a Universal Life Church reverend in 2001. While Nick has called Arizona his home for over the past two decades his heart always belonged to New York. You could often see him with Yankees sports paraphernalia and playbills lined his walls from Broadway shows. He enjoyed the theater, passion for art, mentoring at the boys and girls club, and admiration for sporting events is apparent throughout his life. He was an avid baseball and tennis athlete throughout his life and passionate for wild horses, cats, and zebra finch birds. He has now joined his father, mother, and late sister Martha with God in heaven. He leaves behind his sister, Barbara, her husband Robert, niece Jacqueline, and nephews Robert Jr. and Christopher; and his lifelong friend Phyllis O'Brien and her children Alicia Teitelbaum and Jack O'Brien. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us in the days ahead. We will remember his impeccable fashion sense, smile, laugh, great dance moves, and Donald Duck impressions. As we bid farewell to Nicholas let us take solace in the knowledge that he leaves behind a legacy of volunteerism, kindness, and goodwill that will forever endure. May his soul find peace and may his memory be a blessing to all those who encountered him and knew him. Though you may be gone from our sights, you will never be absent from our hearts.
