Nicolasa Rodriguez September 10, 1941 – August 9, 2025 Nicolasa Rodriguez, age 83, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1941, in Uvalde to Bernadino Lopez and Esiquia Velasquez. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nicolasa was a cornerstone of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Joe Rodriguez; and daughter Elsie Galindo her son-in-law Edward Rodriguez; and her siblings Bernadino Lopez, Dora Payne, Andres Lopez, Albert Lopez and Sylvia Lara. She is survived by her loving children: son Arturo Rodriguez and his wife Dora of Uvalde, and daughter Josie Rodriguez of Uvalde. Nicolasa's legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her brother Roy Lopez and his wife Socorro, also of Uvalde. Nicolasa was a retired employee of Dickies, where she worked diligently for many years. In retirement, she enjoyed life's simple pleasures-watching her nov elas, gardening, cooking meals for her family, and shopping. Her nurturing spirit, sense of humor, and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A devout Catholic, Nicolasa carried her faith close to her heart throughout her life.Her family will forever cherish the memories of her love, strength, and the example she set for generations to come. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a Rosary will take place at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10:00 A.M, Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church., 408 Fort Clark Rd. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearer will be; Jeremy Herrera Pallbearers will be; Roland Rodriguez, Edward Rodriguez Jr., Carlos Lopez, David Lopez, Joshua Herrera, Alex Gonzales
