"Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother"
Mrs. Nirmala Mathur, 80, of 189 Burr Road Southbury, entered into the gates of Heaven on Friday June 9, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Ramesh Narain Mathur.
Nirmala was born in Bhilwara, India on May 3, 1943, daughter of the late Basanti Lal and Bhanwari Bai Mathur. She came from India to the Waterbury on December 23, 1993 settling to Southbury in 2013. She was a proud and devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, and reading. She was very knowledgeable and gifted in the art of homeopathic medicine.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory: a son Piyush Mathur and his wife Rekha of Southbury; 2 daughters, Varsha Mathur and her husband Dinesh of Southbury and Ritu Mathur and her husband Dr. Anil Mathur of Hanover, MD; 2 brothers Dr. Somendra Mathur of Jaipur, India and Pradeep Mathur of Baroda, India; 3 sisters, Kamala Mathur of Charlotte, NC, Manju Mathur of Mumbai, India, and Sheela Mathur of Jaipur, India; six grandchildren, Nina and her husband Deep Arjun, Monika and her husband Neeraj, and Kaartik and his wife Manpreet, Keshav, Paarth, and Prisha; 2 great grandchildren, Jay and Serena; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Vijender Mathur.
Arrangements: A traditional service will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home and Crematory 200 Benson Road Middlebury from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. when the witness cremation will take place. Calling hour will begin at 12:00 p.m.
