Norma Jean Humphries, 82, of Bald Knob went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 11, 2025. She was born in Judsonia on November 20, 1942 to Effie Mae and William Brown Chapman.
She graduated from White County Central High School in 1960 and was united in marriage to her husband, Barney, the same year. She became a loving mother to three children and retired from Wal-Mart after 35 years of service. She was a talented seamstress, often making clothes for her children and grandchildren. She was also an avid gardener; she loved bright-colors and kept beautiful flower gardens.
She was a kind, sweet woman who was adored by everyone around her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Most importantly, she was a born-again Christian and a member of Central Baptist Church in Bald Knob.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her youngest daughter, Rebecca Jean Humphries, brother, Russell David Chapman, and sister, Lola Doris Whitlow. She is survived by her daughter, Annette (Doy) Knight, her son, Herb (Debra) Humphries, seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Dr. Derek Collins and Bro. Beaux Hargrove officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brandon Arnold, Cooper Arnold, David Arnold, Beaux Hargrove, Jorden Humphries, and Sawyer Robinson. Interment will be at Providence Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
