Norma June Meyer peacefully departed this world on April 21, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on June 3, 1931, in Vincennes, Indiana, she is the daughter of John and Minnie (Dick) Kimmel. Norma spent her early years in Decker Chapel, nurturing a love for community and family that would define her life. She married John E. Meyer on November 26, 1949, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2017.
A proud graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School class of 1949, she dedicated herself to her family and her work as a secretary in the linen industry, notably with Aramark. Norma's commitment extended beyond her profession; she was an active member of Southside Presbyterian Church, where she forged deep connections and offered her warm spirit to all who knew her.
Norma cherished simple pleasures—whether it was beautifying her yard, cross-stitching intricate designs, or crafting beautiful quilts that became treasured heirlooms for her grandchildren. Her hands created warmth and beauty, but it was her open heart that truly touched the lives of those around her.
She leaves behind her beloved sons, Dennis Meyer and his wife Mary Jo of Greenwood, IN, Gary Meyer and his wife Peggy of Vincennes, IN, Larry Meyer and his wife Julie of Oakland City, IN; grandchildren, Scott Meyer (Tara), Brent Meyer (Crystal), Beth Lindsey (Darwin), Mallory Bowman (Zach), Leslie Corn (Matt), Lucas Meyer (Ritchie); great grandchildren, Ava and Scarlett Meyer, Silas and Lilith Meyer, Luke, Sam, and Chloe Lindsey, Max and Miles Bowman and Collin, Carter, and Carson Corn. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie Kimmel, her husband, John E.
