Norma Ann Sutphen passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at MediLodge of St. Clair. Born on February 26, 1942, in Port Huron, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of the late Norman and Clara (LaGrange) Ingles.
Norma's journey began alongside her loving parents and siblings in the town where she was born. On March 20, 1961 she married her soulmate, Richard Sutphen. They enjoyed 25 years of marriage until his passing on August 11, 1986.
Norma is survived by her children, Richard (Darlene) Sutphen of Goodells, LeeAnn (John) Hintz of Goodells, Colleen (Patrick) Reid of Marysville, and Jason (Michele) Sutphen of Goodells; grandchildren, Felicia (Jason) Oom, Jenna Sutphen, Justin (Nicole) Sutphen, Jessica Sutphen, Lee (Heather) Reid, and Joshua Reid; granddaughter-in-law, Taylor Reid; great-grandchildren, Lainey, Derek, Lucas, Carter, Roselynn, Laurana, Zelda, Landon, Audrey, Delaney, Raelynn, Gunnar, Eleanor, and Molly; sisters, Marge (Bill) Higgins, Carrie (Guy) Williams, Shannon (Bernie) Campbell, Glenda (Dale) McTaggert, Millie (Mark) Hall, Amy Tichy, and Laura (John) Williams; sister-in-law, Ruthie (Woodrow) Nelson; brother-in-law, Raymond (Evelyn) Sutphen; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, aside from her husband Richard, were her grandson, Scott Reid, who passed on October 1, 2023, and her brothers, Dan, George, Bob, and Dick Ingles.
Norma loved spending quality time with her family, especially reminiscing and laughing with her sisters. When Norma wasn't spending time with her family, she could be found gardening and crafting. Her nurturing presence and creative spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
As we bid farewell to Norma Ann Sutphen, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that generously loved. Norma's spirit will continue to inspire us, just as the gardens she tended will continue to bloom year after year, a living tribute to a life well-lived.
To celebrate Norma's life, a gathering and viewing will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center, 4521 Ravenswood Road, Kimball, Michigan 48074.
