Mr. Norman Wayne McElrath, 82, of Grubbs passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Jonesboro. He was born February 20, 1943, to Norman Roe Wilson McElrath and Rose Mary (Johnson) McElrath.
Wayne was a member of the Grubbs Church of Christ. He loved hunting, fishing, buying, selling, and collecting antiques. Whatever he did he did it with passion. He developed many lasting friendships over the years. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. Mr. McElrath worked at Norandol for over 42 years.
Mr. McElrath was preceded in death by his parents.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years; Ruth McElrath of Grubbs, one son; Jeff McElrath of Grubbs, one daughter: Sandy and husband Stacy Miser of Jonesboro, one brother; Bill McElrath of Horn Lake, MS, three grandchildren: Stacia DePew and husband Justin of Jonesboro, Sammie Pribble and husband Parker of Jonesboro, Tanner McElrath and wife Kristen of Olive Branch, MS, two great grandchildren; Rex DePew and Nolen DePew of Jonesboro.
He truly loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of his life. You could look the world over and never find a better husband, father, or Paw Paw like him. He will be missed by us all.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m.Tuesday at the Ballew's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:30 to 12:30 at the funeral home.
