Norman B. Quesnel, Jr., 61, of Enfield, CT, passed away on September 18, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with health issues. Born in Springfield, MA, on October 21, 1962, to the late Norman Quesnel, Sr. and Beatrice (Ostrom) Quesnel. Norm was raised in Enfield, where he formed many lifelong friendships and met his soulmate, Brenda Richards. Together, they shared 38 years of marriage filled with laughter, love, and countless memories.
Norm was a proud graduate of Enfield High School where he excelled academically and athletically, then spent most of his career as a master carpenter and business owner of Pioneer Carpentry, Inc. before his recent retirement. He was a community advocate in so many ways, most notably serving as the President of the Broad Brook Angling Club for 17 years. Under his vision, the club purchased land and created an easily accessible pond that made it possible for elderly and disabled members to enjoy fishing with their children. He also dedicated many years to coaching Enfield Youth Hockey teams. In the end, his biggest impact was the combination of the endless amounts of favors, small and large, he gave to all those around him. Whether it was fixing something for a friend, giving someone a set of second hands, sharing a story, or making a new friend out of a stranger. Norm's daily kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Norm's greatest passion was bringing joy to those around him. He had an incredible ability to light up any room with his infectious laugh and warm presence. He was the Dad who constantly turned his home into a magical place for his family and neighborhood kids by building ice rinks in the winter, batting cages in the summer, and hosting the best parties in town - just to name a few.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda; his sons Benjamin Quesnel and his wife Michelle of Stamford, CT, and Stephen Quesnel and his wife Brittany of Glastonbury, CT; his cherished granddaughters Lillia and Gracen Quesnel, who were the light of his life; his sisters, Lisa Feinman and her partner Jerry Doran of Chester, CT, and Sharon Harris and her husband R.B. of Somers, CT.
Norm's family and friends will forever miss his boundless energy, his ability to fix anything, and his huge heart. He was known for his amazing sense of humor, and was admired for his craftsmanship, leadership, and willingness to help others in any way that he could find. Those who were fortunate enough to have known him are better for it and will carry a piece of his spirit with them always. The memories and lessons he left behind will never fade away.
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield, CT (Please Meet Directly at Church). Burial will take place directly after at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, King St., Enfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Norm's honor to the Broad Brook Angling Club, 15 Tromley Rd., East Windsor, CT 06088 to support continued preservation efforts. Brenda I am just hearing about this now! I am so truly sorry for your loss! I just saw you both not that long ago at MSG. My heart breaks for you, you both were the poster for what a marriage should be.

I was the ring bearer in his parents wedding so I´ve know Norman Jr since birth. As it has been said many times he had a great, infectious laugh that he inherited from his dad. Snowmobiling in the 70´s was a wonderful pastime shared with Jr and Sr at our farm in Vermont.
While we haven´t been close over the years it wasn´t by choice, it simply was a function of having a full life, and commitments lacking us in different directions.
My deepest condolences to Brenda, his children and his sisters Lisa and Sharon.
A commitment will prevent me from attending the services but know that my thoughts will be with you.
Stan

I first want to give my condolences to my cousin Norman´s family. Was blessed to spend time with him at a family gathering in Charlotte NC a few years ago. He hadn´t changed a bit. Very funny and had the best laugh and did it often. Those are the memories that I will carry with me. Prayers to the whole family. Rest in Peace cousin Norman.
